Packing Dishes

The bottom of the dish boxes should have 6-8 pieces of crumpled paper to provide a cushion. Wrap each dish with at least 2 pieces of packing paper. If you aren’t using partitions, then a good technique is to stack three dishes and then wrap those with paper. Place the heaviest dishes on the bottom. When stacking them in the box, lie them on their sides. The edges of dishes are more durable than the middle.

Fill the top with paper as well so it can’t be pushed down into the dishes. Keep in mind that boxes are stacked on top of each during the move, so there needs to be materials to fill open space. Styrofoam popcorn can be used to fill space also.
